FDSA New Modalities of Learning
As COVID-19 escalates the fear within us, we are now apprehending a “new normal” state of life including our children’s education.
In
lieu with this situation, Flight Dynamics School of Aeronautics will offer two
methods of learning namely: Blended Learning and Modular Classes.
Please
read below the definition of the said methods:
Blended Learning - This blended learning is to combine
modular learning with mobile learning and online learning process.
Benefits of Blended Learning:
1. Flexibility – a blended learning
approach provides ultimate flexibility in presenting content. Complex topics
can be presented in the classroom, while other subject matter can be available
online.
2. Effectiveness – the blended learning
has the proven potential to enhance both the effectiveness and efficiency of
meaningful learning experiences.
3. Efficiency – with a well-planned
blended learning strategy, you can efficiently and quickly deliver training to
a broad audience.
4. Cost-effectiveness – most of us like
strategies that can save our organization money. And blended learning is one of
them! Including more online options in your training program saves on travel
and missed work.
5. Cover all learning styles – it’s
always important to take learning styles into account then designing training
for adults.
Modular Learning - Modular learning instruction is an
alternative instructional design that uses developed instructional materials
which are based on the needs of the students.
Benefits of Modular Learning:
1. The acquisition of a better self-study
or learning skills among students.
2. They developed a sense of
responsibility in accomplishing the tasks provided in the module.
3. They learned how to learn; they were
empowered.
4. They discover new things and they
experiment with knowledge themselves.
5. Students learn to reflect on their
experiences, thus developing new skills, attitudes, and ways of thinking.
6. Moreover, experiential learning trains
students to be responsible for their own learning because they are involved in
active roles for the purpose of learning.
